Our Story
Founded in 1950 as the Flint Rescue Mission, Carriage Town Ministries has been a beacon of hope in the Flint community for over 70 years. With only five directors leading the way, the organization has remained steadfast in its mission to serve the hungry, thirsty, and those in need of shelter. Located in Flint's historic Carriage Town neighborhood, it offers a safe haven for visitors and residents alike, fostering an environment of learning, responsibility, and purpose.
Impacting Lives
Carriage Town Ministries currently provides 135 beds, the most in the county, and each year distributes over 49,000 clean, safe beds, 213,000 meals, and 350,000 pieces of clothing to those in need. The Lafia Learning Center, open to the community, serves 80 students monthly, empowering individuals through education and support.
