The Carolina Children’s Home (CCH) was established in 1909 by Reverend Carlisle Courtenay, originally known as the Rescue Orphanage. Starting in a modest rented house in downtown Columbia, the organization quickly expanded to a sixty-four acre site, providing a safe haven for orphans from across South Carolina. Over the decades, CCH has evolved, serving over 125 children at its peak and fostering a sense of community through initiatives like the Palmetto Little League.
The CCH Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and young adults in South Carolina through financial support, advocacy, and scholarships for education. By addressing the mental and physical health needs of families, CCH plays a crucial role in building a brighter future.
