Our Story

Caring for Canines began in 1992 when a compassionate 14-year-old girl visited Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. Overwhelmed by the sight of countless sad and homeless dogs and cats, she rescued one and vowed to make a difference. This small act of kindness sparked a movement that has grown over the past 20 years into a dedicated community focused on animal welfare. Today, Caring for Canines continues to save thousands of lives, advocating against pet overpopulation and providing a safe haven for those in need.

Our Impact

Caring for Canines is a 501c3 non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization committed to saving dogs that are often overlooked due to breed, color, or age. By promoting spay and neuter initiatives and providing educational resources, the organization addresses the critical issue of pet overpopulation, making a significant impact in the lives of countless canines.
