The Star Foundation was inspired by a heartfelt encounter in 2013 when Dr. Sheryl Rosin met a young child with autism in St. Kitts. The child's family shared their struggles with limited access to trained professionals and the stigma surrounding developmental disabilities in the region. In 2018, Dr. Rosin, a certified speech-language pathologist with over 25 years of experience, founded the Caribbean Autism Project, now known as the Star Foundation, to address these critical needs.
Thanks to the generosity of donors and partners, the Star Foundation has positively impacted over 1,000 children, trained 200 parents and caregivers, and initiated numerous autism awareness campaigns across the Caribbean. The foundation is dedicated to creating a brighter future for children with autism and developmental differences.
