Our Story

Founded in 1971 by Church Women United, Care and Share of Erie County is a public, non-profit, faith-based agency dedicated to reducing the stigma surrounding food insecurity and eradicating hunger. Over the years, it has evolved into a Choice Pantry, allowing clients to select food items, promoting dignity and reducing waste.

Impact

In the fiscal year 2023/2024, Care & Share served 25,412 people in Erie County, Ohio, marking a 77% increase in the number of individuals served compared to the previous year. The organization distributed over 304,899 pounds of food, showcasing its vital role in the community.
