The Cape Girardeau County Historical Society, founded in 1926, is dedicated to documenting the rich history of the region. With the establishment of the History Center in 2015 and the Research Annex in 2020, CGCHS provides museum-quality displays and educational events to an international audience.
By preserving and interpreting the stories of local people, places, and events, CGCHS enhances the cultural heritage and education of the community.
