Our Story
Cape Fear HealthNet (CFHN) emerged from the Health Care Access subcommittee of the Cape Fear Healthy Carolinian’s chapter in 2005. By 2008, CFHN established a board of directors and received its 501c3 designation. The board comprises members from diverse health and social service agencies, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and both practicing and retired medical providers. CFHN is dedicated to creating a coordinated healthcare system for the poor and uninsured in Brunswick, New Hanover, Columbus, and Pender counties, ensuring that low-income residents have access to a medical home and preventive services.
