Our Story

The Cape Fear Guardian ad Litem Association has been dedicated to supporting children in foster care in New Hanover and Pender Counties for over 19 years. This organization provides essential experiences such as summer camps, music lessons, and academic tutoring, which are often not covered by the state. Through the generous contributions of local foundations, businesses, and individual donors, CFGALA has raised over $1 million to fulfill the dreams of children in the foster care system, ensuring they have the opportunity to enjoy their childhood and build resilience for their future.

Impact

Each year, approximately 400 children in New Hanover and Pender counties are adjudicated as victims of abuse and neglect. CFGALA's support allows these children to enjoy experiences that help them thrive, not just survive, creating lasting memories and opportunities for personal growth.
