Our Story
Founded in 2007 with the generous support of local real estate developer Will Stout, the Cape Coral Rowing Club has become a cornerstone of the community. With waterfront property and substantial funding, the club established itself in the Cape Harbour area, thanks in part to significant contributions from the Cape Coral Rotary Club. The first Learn to Row classes commenced in November 2007, marking the beginning of a journey that has transformed the lives of many in the region.
In the summer of 2022, the club faced a significant challenge when the planned development of Cape Harbour necessitated a relocation. The City of Cape Coral graciously permitted the club to operate from a temporary location in the northwest part of town. Just two days after the grand opening at this new venue, Hurricane Ian struck, devastating the facility and fleet. However, the resilience of the club shone through as rebuild efforts began immediately, allowing the Youth Crew season to launch on November 29, 2022, against all odds.
Since its inception, the Cape Coral Rowing Club has instructed hundreds of youth and adults in the sport of crew rowing, with many youth athletes advancing to collegiate rowing programs. The club has participated in numerous regattas across Florida and beyond, showcasing the talent and dedication of its members.
