Our Story
Cancer Care of North Central Washington was founded in 1993 by a dedicated group of cancer survivors and healthcare professionals who recognized the unmet needs of cancer patients in the region. The organization’s first initiative, Our House, involved purchasing, remodeling, and furnishing a home in Wenatchee where cancer patients could stay during their treatment. In 2000, a new six-bedroom house was completed, providing a vital resource for patients traveling long distances for care. Many patients endure grueling treatment schedules, often requiring them to travel up to three hours one way. The availability of affordable accommodations is crucial, allowing patients to focus on their recovery without the added stress of financial burdens.
