Our Story

Camps in Common operates the historic Oakland Feather River Camp, founded in 1924. After a proposal to close the camp in 2003, a passionate group of campers established CIC to preserve this vital resource. Since then, the organization has enhanced access to quality outdoor programs, ensuring that families can connect with nature.

Impact

For over 20 years, Camps in Common has provided transformative outdoor experiences for Oakland youth and families. With community support, the organization has made significant improvements, including ADA accommodations and health and safety upgrades.
