Our Story

Founded in 2008 by Barbara Van Thullenar Denton during a Bible study group, Camp Rise Above was born from an 'impossible dream' to create a camp for children with special medical needs in the Charleston area. Since then, it has been dedicated to serving over 58,000 children in South Carolina.
