Our Story

Established in 1927, Camp Dark Waters is a cherished retreat located on over fifteen acres, dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, social, physical, and emotional growth of children and young adults. Originally purchased by Samuel Matlack, the camp has evolved through the years, providing a safe and enriching environment for youth to explore their individuality while embracing community values. Under the guidance of various directors, including the Braxton family and Steve Edgerton, the camp has seen significant improvements and achieved American Camping Association (ACA) certification in 1977.
