About Camp Andrews

Founded in the mid-1940s, Camp Andrews has a rich history rooted in the vision of Harry Andrews, a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church in Lancaster. Originally a summer-only facility, the camp transitioned to a year-round operation in 1973 when it was purchased by the Baltimore Mennonite Mission. The mission was clear: to provide urban youth with a transformative experience that combines spiritual training and practical skills.

Our Journey

Over the years, Camp Andrews has evolved significantly. In 1983, the Camp Andrews Association was formed, allowing for greater focus on the needs of urban youth. Under the leadership of dedicated directors, the camp has expanded its facilities and programs, including the completion of Pine View Lodge in 2001 and the construction of a new pool bath house and gymnasium in 2007 and 2009, respectively. By 2003, the camp was welcoming close to 5,000 youth each year, a testament to its growing impact.

Impact

Camp Andrews has successfully introduced urban youth to Jesus, fostering spiritual growth and mentorship. The camp's attendance has tripled since 1993, demonstrating its vital role in the community.
