Our Story
For over 60 years, Camillus House has been a beacon of hope for the hungry and homeless in Miami-Dade County. It all began in 1960 when Brother Mathias Barrett offered a bowl of corn flakes to a newly arrived Cuban exile. This small act of kindness blossomed into a comprehensive ministry that now serves as the largest and one of the oldest service providers for the homeless in South Florida.
Impact
Last year, Camillus House served over 33,400 individuals, providing essential services such as food, shelter, and medical care to those in need.
