Our Story

The Cambridge Jazz Foundation was established through the collaborative vision of former Cambridge City Councillor Larry Ward and Ron Savage, Dean of the Professional Performance Division at Berklee College of Music. Their dream of a vibrant jazz festival in Cambridge came to life in July 2014, and since then, the organization has flourished, focusing on community engagement and jazz education.

Impact

Since its inception, the Cambridge Jazz Foundation has expanded its reach, growing attendance from 2,500 in 2014 to over 15,000 in 2018. The foundation has awarded over $5,000 in scholarships to individuals and the City of Cambridge, fostering a love for jazz.
