Founded in 1983 in the basement of Calvary Baptist Church, Calvary Women's Services began as a temporary overnight shelter for women facing homelessness. Over the years, it has evolved into a vital organization offering housing, health, education, and employment programs. By addressing the unique needs of women in Washington, D.C., Calvary empowers them to reclaim their lives and achieve independence.

Making a Lasting Impact

Calvary Women's Services has provided over 46,600 nights of safe housing and served more than 50,800 nutritious meals, facilitating 750 therapy sessions to help women achieve safe housing, good health, and financial independence.
