Our Story

The Calliope Joy Foundation was established in 2013 after the founders learned that their daughter Cal had leukodystrophy, a rare and fatal disease. This foundation is committed to improving care, supporting families, and championing research for those affected by this devastating condition.

Impact

With nearly a million dollars raised through events like Cal's Cupcake Challenge, the foundation has sold 45,000 cupcakes to support families and research initiatives. The potential FDA approval of the MLD gene therapy treatment OTL-200 is a significant step towards accessible treatment for MLD patients in the U.S.
