Our Story
Founded in 2008, the California Oncology Research Institute (CORI) recognized the urgent need to assist underserved populations through education and cancer prevention initiatives. In 2011, CORI launched the innovative community outreach program "Cancer: Prevention, Detection, and Intervention," partnering with inner-city churches and community organizations to deliver comprehensive cancer workshops across the greater Los Angeles area. By 2012, CORI expanded its services to include free breast examinations and mammogram screenings for uninsured and underinsured women, reaching over one thousand low-income families.
The dedicated doctors and scientists at CORI are globally recognized for their pioneering cancer research, specializing in skin, gastrointestinal, prostate, breast, and gynecologic cancers. Their research has garnered recognition from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI), as well as numerous prestigious medical journals. CORI has also received commendations from the City of Los Angeles and the City of Inglewood, along with the Cancer Support Community's "Spirit of Community Award." Looking ahead, CORI is committed to advancing cutting-edge cancer research and expanding training, education, and outreach programs.
