Our Story

The California Indian Heritage Center Foundation was established in 2009 to uplift California's Native community through various projects, special events, and educational programs at the State Indian Museum in Sacramento. Evolving from the Sacramento Historic Sites Association, the foundation is dedicated to securing funding for interpretive programs and the future California Indian Heritage Center, which will serve as a repository for cultural items and community spaces.

Impact

Through its initiatives, the Foundation has significantly increased visitor engagement and Native community participation at the State Indian Museum.
