Our Story

The California Coastal Protection Network (CCPN) is a strategic advocacy organization dedicated to preserving California’s stunning 1,100-mile coastline. Founded in 1999 by Susan Jordan, CCPN has nearly three decades of experience in defeating harmful coastal development projects and promoting positive coastal policies. Engaging with various advocates, CCPN focuses on public access, environmental protection, and addressing critical challenges such as climate change and sea level rise.

Our Impact

CCPN has a proven track record of raising public awareness about coastal development and access issues. A notable achievement includes the unanimous defeat of the Brookfield-Poseidon Huntington Beach Seawater Desalination Project in May 2022, showcasing the organization's effectiveness in advocacy.
