Our Story

CaliDanza Dance Company was founded in March 2013 by Steven Valencia with a mission to bring innovative Mexican arts programming to the Sacramento region. The company is dedicated to promoting artistic excellence in both Mexican folk and contemporary dance, ensuring that dance is accessible to all audiences and participants. Since its inception, CaliDanza has expanded its educational programs, starting with the Twin Rivers Unified School District in 2014 and now proudly serving multiple districts including Woodland Joint Unified and Sacramento City Unified.
