Our Story

The C E Byrd Alumni Association was established in September 1986, receiving 501(c)(3) status by August 1987. This status allows donations and memorials to be tax-deductible. The mission focuses on preserving the rich history and traditions of CE Byrd High School while supporting current students and alumni. Early initiatives included the Coach J.D. Cox Roast, the Ultimate Reunion, and the Hall of Fame Luncheon. The Association continues to enhance Byrd’s standing as a premier educational institution through various fundraising efforts and events, including a significant refurbishment of the auditorium and ongoing projects for the school's centennial celebration.

Impact

The Alumni Association has raised over $126,500 for various projects, including $109,000 for refurbishing the auditorium and $17,500 for AP Student Scholarships. This demonstrates a strong commitment to enhancing the educational experience at CE Byrd High School.
