Our Story

The Watermill Center, founded in 1992 by renowned theater director Robert Wilson, serves as a vibrant laboratory for the arts and humanities. Located in a former Western Union research facility, this ten-acre arts compound provides a unique space for artists to experiment and develop their work. Through programs like the International Summer Program and Artist Residency Program, The Watermill Center supports emerging artists from around the globe.
