Our Story

Byrd Barr Place, formerly known as the Central Area Motivation Program (CAMP), has dedicated over 60 years to empowering individuals in Seattle. Named in honor of civil rights leader Roberta Byrd Barr, the organization focuses on uplifting the Black community through essential services and advocacy.

Impact

In 2023, Byrd Barr Place provided critical support to thousands of households, helping families avoid homelessness and access healthy food. Their energy and rental assistance programs have been vital in ensuring stability for many.
