The Butterfield Preservation Foundation emerged from a grassroots movement dedicated to preserving open spaces and supporting the Butterfield Park District. In 2015, a passionate group known as The Friends of Butterfield Parks mobilized to secure land adjacent to Glenbriar Park. Their efforts led to a successful community-wide referendum, passing with over 70% support, which laid the groundwork for the Foundation's formal establishment on August 10, 2017.
Since its inception, the Foundation has revitalized parks and facilities, acquired new land, and transformed neglected areas into cherished community treasures.
