The Burrillville Land Trust was founded in 1999 by a dedicated group of local residents committed to preserving the natural landscape and the unique sense of place in Burrillville. This all-volunteer, community-based land trust focuses on maintaining the town’s rural character by protecting open spaces, farms, and the surrounding woodlands, meadows, ponds, and rivers.
Since its inception, the Burrillville Land Trust has successfully conserved 229 acres of land, initiated the Burrillville Farmers’ Market to foster local agriculture, and secured the first conservation easement in town to protect a working farm.
