Our Story

Founded in 1956 by four visionary businessmen, Burke County United Way began as the Burke County United Fund, aimed at creating a sustainable way for donors to meet community needs. In 1994, the organization evolved into Burke County United Way, and by 2016, it had invested over $27 million back into the community. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a strategic plan was developed to focus on housing, self-sufficiency, and youth success.
