Our Story

In the 1960s, a group of Asian studies graduate students and faculty formed the Committee of Concerned Asian Scholars to protest U.S. foreign policy in Asia. They initiated the Bulletin of Concerned Asian Scholars, which evolved into Critical Asian Studies, aiming to challenge prevailing scholarship and foster a humane understanding of Asian societies.
