Transforming Education for Newark's Youth

Building Responsible Intelligent Creative Kids (BRICK) began its journey at Shabazz High School, where a dedicated group of Teach for America alumni identified a critical need for improved educational pathways. Recognizing the systemic barriers that hindered student success, these visionaries took action to create meaningful change. Through partnerships with Newark Public Schools, BRICK has successfully revitalized underperforming schools and established the Achieve Clinton Hill Charter School, serving children in the South Ward.

Impacting Lives Through Innovative Education

BRICK is committed to breaking the cycles of poverty and racism that affect our youth. Annually, 2,895 students, families, and community members benefit from our holistic support, excellent schools, and college and career services. Remarkably, 92% of our students gain acceptance to their college of choice, while the remaining 8% pursue trade school or enter the workforce.
