Building Alabama Reinvestment (BAR) is a dedicated community-based organization focused on enhancing access to essential banking services, affordable housing, and entrepreneurship for Alabama’s working families. By advancing the mission of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), BAR encourages the reinvestment of resources into local communities, fostering sustainability and promoting economic justice throughout the state.
BAR has successfully sent hundreds of Alabama delegates to the National Community Reinvestment Coalition annual conference and has hosted 13 annual conferences. Through workshops and seminars, BAR provides vital training and information to nonprofits, while also leading efforts to engage financial institutions, resulting in billions of dollars in community benefits agreements.
