Our Story

Founded in January 2012, BUILD Institute began as a program of D:hive, a resource hub in downtown Detroit. The initiative offers comprehensive entrepreneurship education through classes like BUILD Basics, which adhere to national standards. Since the first class in spring 2012, demand has surged, leading to seasonal offerings and expanded programs such as BUILD Social Impact and Co.Starters.

Impact

BUILD Institute has graduated over 2,600 aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs, significantly contributing to the local economy. For every dollar invested in an entrepreneur, $23.65 is generated in economic impact.
