Our Story

Founded in 1931, the Bryn Mawr-Wellesley Book Sale is the longest-running and largest book sale on the East Coast. Initiated by Bryn Mawr College alumnae during the Great Depression, this annual event raises vital scholarship funds for young women. In 2000, the Wellesley Club of Central New Jersey joined forces to further this mission, ensuring that local students have access to higher education.

Impact

Each year, dedicated volunteers sort through nearly one million books, saving around 60,000 for sale. The proceeds directly support local students attending Bryn Mawr and Wellesley Colleges, while also promoting book recycling and providing affordable options for book lovers in the community.
