The Brown County Humane Society, Inc. (BCHS) was founded in 1966 by compassionate individuals who recognized the urgent need for a voice for abandoned and abused animals in Brown County. Over the years, BCHS has evolved from fostering pets in private homes to establishing the first animal shelter in the county in 1987. With ongoing renovations and expansions, the shelter now provides a safe haven for countless animals. In 2021, BCHS opened a new shelter, a testament to its commitment to animal welfare.
