Our Story

The Brown County Humane Society is a small county shelter with a big country heart. Founded in 1976, this organization achieved no kill status in 2010, ensuring that no animal is euthanized due to lack of space. Over the years, BCHS has expanded its services, including the establishment of the Small Animal Adoption Center in 2017 and the launch of the Brown County SNAP program in 2022.

Impact

Since achieving no kill status, BCHS has provided critical services such as spay and neuter assistance, veterinary care, and adoption support, significantly improving the welfare of animals in Brown County.
