Our Story

The Brown County Homeless and Housing Coalition was established in the early 1980s in response to the challenges faced by individuals displaced by gentrification in downtown Green Bay. As low-rental apartments closed, concerns grew about the potential for increased homelessness among vulnerable populations. The Coalition emerged from a community effort to educate local officials about these pressing needs, and it has since evolved into a vital resource for those experiencing poverty and homelessness.

Impact

Through various programs and partnerships, the Coalition has made significant strides in addressing homelessness, including the establishment of the New Community Shelter and the Ecumenical Partnership for Housing.
