About Brown County Community Foundation

The Brown County Community Foundation (BCCF) was established in 1993, inspired by a challenge from The Lilly Endowment Inc. to foster local philanthropy. The foundation's journey began with the introduction of the Larry C. Banks Memorial Scholarship, marking its first endowed fund. Under the leadership of Del Newkirk, BCCF has grown significantly, enhancing its influence and assets to better serve the community.

Located in Nashville, Indiana, BCCF operates from the Howard F. Hughes Community Building, a generous gift from the Howard Hughes Trust. This space not only houses the foundation's offices but also serves as a community hub for local nonprofits and social organizations.

Impact of BCCF

Each year, BCCF distributes over $1 million in grants and scholarships, directly impacting the lives of Brown County residents. By partnering with local nonprofits, the foundation addresses pressing community needs and fosters sustainable development.
