Our Story

Founded in the early 1940s by preacher Bill Harrod, Brother Bill’s Helping Hand has dedicated over 80 years to meeting the physical needs of the West Dallas community. Registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1961, the organization has evolved to provide food, healthcare, and educational programming to those in need, regardless of zip code.

Impact

In 2023, Brother Bill’s Helping Hand served an astounding 2.1 million meals and provided healthcare services through its community clinic, with over 5,676 visits. The organization has expanded its reach to over 200 zip codes, significantly increasing its impact in the Dallas area.
