Our Story

Appalachian Promise Alliance, formerly known as Bristol’s Promise, was established in 1998 to mobilize communities in meeting the basic needs of children, youth, and families. The organization focuses on the Five Promises defined by America’s Promise: caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education, and opportunities to serve. The name change in 2023 reflects a broader service area while honoring its heritage.
