Our Story
Founded in 2007 by Dani Hedlund, Brink Literacy Project began as Tethered by Letters, driven by the belief that storytelling can empower individuals and transform lives. Initially a resource hub for writers, the organization has evolved to encompass a variety of educational initiatives and community programs. In 2015, a pivotal shift occurred, focusing efforts on developing programs tailored for low-literacy, low-income, and marginalized populations. This led to impactful teaching at the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility and the launch of the Youth Writing Program.
Impact
Brink Literacy Project harnesses the power of storytelling to uplift those on the brink, enhancing literacy rates and fostering personal growth in underserved communities.
