Our Story

Founded in 1987 by Jeannie and Bill Weatherholtz, Hill Country Horse Rescue began as a small operation focused on rescuing abused and neglected horses. Over the years, the organization has expanded significantly, responding to urgent calls for help from law enforcement and increasing its capacity to care for horses in need.

Our Impact

Hill Country Horse Rescue has successfully rehabilitated and rehomed numerous horses, providing a safe haven for over 15 horses at any given time. Each horse receives individualized care plans tailored to their unique needs, ensuring they thrive in a nurturing environment.
