Our Story

Founded in 1987 by two dedicated mothers, Barb Hoppe and Jan Dutton, Bright Lights began as a response to budget cuts in public school summer programs. What started as a graduate school project has blossomed into a vibrant initiative, now serving approximately 1,600 students annually through over 125 engaging summer camps.

Impact

Bright Lights offers unique, hands-on summer learning experiences for K-8th grade students, allowing them to explore their interests in fun and inspiring ways. The program has significantly expanded since its inception, providing enriching educational opportunities to children in the community.
