In 1987, Fran Heitzman sparked a movement by giving away a piece of furniture to a new family. This simple act of kindness laid the foundation for Bridging, an organization dedicated to connecting those with excess goods to those in need. Since then, thousands of volunteers have joined the cause, transforming lives in the Twin Cities and beyond.

Impact

Bridging empowers over 13,000 individuals each year by providing essential furniture and household goods, helping them achieve housing stability. With the support of nearly 5,000 volunteers and over 200 social service agencies, Bridging is making a significant difference in the community.
