Empowering Women and Families in Gressier, Haiti

In 2019, a visionary Haitian school administrator recognized a profound need for Christian community in Gressier, Haiti. What began as a humble women’s Bible study in her home for just seven individuals has blossomed into a vibrant organization serving over 800 women and families. The Bridge Haiti is dedicated to fostering spiritual development, providing educational opportunities, offering mental health counseling, and delivering emergency services to those in need.

Comprehensive Programs for Lasting Change

With the establishment of a stateside Board of Directors, The Bridge has expanded its programming significantly. The Mental Health Program was launched to provide access to Christian counseling and healing services, ensuring that attendees receive the support they need. The School Sponsorship Pilot Program has opened doors for 12 young ladies to pursue education at high school trade schools or universities, paving the way for brighter futures.

In addition, weekly community English classes have been initiated, empowering women with essential skills for personal and professional growth. A facility has been purchased to create a dedicated space for private counseling and administrative functions, while a cistern has been built on-site to provide clean water for all attendees.

Responding to Crises with Compassion

During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Bridge stepped up to facilitate its first mass community food distribution, providing 125 families with a week’s supply of food. Co-Founders Ritha and Fender Antoine have taken on full-time roles as In-Country Directors, overseeing daily operations and ensuring that the mission continues to thrive.

Monthly outreach events have been launched to connect with the unreached in the community, while community Children’s Bible Studies and Adult Literacy Classes have been established to provide educational resources and spiritual guidance. The Emergency Services Program has also been initiated to assist with minor medical and nutritional needs.
