Our Story

The Bridge Center for Hope was established in response to tragic events involving individuals with mental illness in East Baton Rouge Parish. Following the deaths of five individuals in jail due to inadequate mental health services, advocates worked tirelessly to create a facility that provides essential crisis care and treatment. Operating 24/7 with a no wrong door policy, the center ensures that anyone in crisis can receive help, regardless of their ability to pay.

Impact

Since opening in February 2021, the Bridge Center for Hope has served over 8,000 residents, providing critical mental health and substance use services. The significant increase in admissions highlights the center's vital role in the community for those in crisis.
