Our Story

Bridge Builders Inc was founded by Kurt Owens, who, after years of witnessing the decline of his neighborhood, decided to take action. Initially planning to move to the suburbs, Kurt's heart was stirred when he faced criticism for abandoning his community. This pivotal moment led him to cancel his move and dedicate himself to revitalizing the North Side of Milwaukee.

Since its establishment in 2016, Bridge Builders has focused on engaging residents, organizing block cleanups, and improving the neighborhood. With a target area of 140 city blocks, the organization has hosted over 250 missionaries and partnered with local businesses, government, and churches to make a lasting impact.
