Breath of My Heart

Our Story

Breath of My Heart Birthplace is dedicated to establishing a sustainable community-based midwifery care clinic and birth center in the Española Valley. Founded in 2010 through a collaborative effort involving local midwives and community members, BMH emerged from a strong desire for respectful and dignified midwifery care. Achieving 501(c)(3) status in 2015, the organization continues to develop infrastructure and programming aligned with community needs.

Breath of My Heart embodies community wellness and healing, providing safe and accessible birth and reproductive health services to families in the Tewa basin.
