Our Story

Breakthrough New York was founded in 1999 to combat the 'summer slide' affecting low-income middle school students. Originally a summer program under The Town School, it has evolved to provide a comprehensive ten-year support system for students in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. This program is designed to meet the unique needs of New York City students and their families.

Our Impact

By empowering motivated students from low-income backgrounds, Breakthrough New York helps them graduate from college and pursue fulfilling careers. The organization supports over 500 students from 7th grade through college, ensuring they have the resources and relationships necessary for success.
