Our Story

In 1990, a dedicated group of individuals pioneered a transformative model of housing for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This initiative led to the establishment of Breaking Ground's Times Square residence, which remains the largest supportive housing facility in the nation. Nearly three decades later, Breaking Ground operates close to 4,000 units across New York City, upstate New York, and Connecticut, providing homes for thousands.
