Breaking Barriers - Hope Is Alive
EIN: 81-1845197 · Akron, OH
Our Story
At just nine months old, Tyler Bornstein was already walking, and by age five, he was doing push-ups. An athlete from a young age, Tyler excelled in various sports, but injuries led to a painful journey of opiate addiction. Tragically, Tyler lost his life to a heroin and fentanyl overdose at the age of twenty-three. In his memory, his parents, Shelly and Travis, founded Hope United to support families grappling with addiction.
Impact in Ohio
Hope United serves Summit, Stark, and Portage Counties, Ohio, through impactful programs like Breaking Barriers and The Well. The organization is dedicated to creating safer communities and healthier families while working tirelessly to end the stigma surrounding addiction.
